East Jakarta Vice Mayor Urges Residents to Keep Environment Clean

Anticipating the emergence of inundation and disease during the rainy season, East Jakarta Vice Mayor Iin Mutmainah urged residents to continuously improve cleanliness in their respective environments.

"Cleanup action must be a routine agenda," she expressed, Tuesday (12/19).

According to her, last month, the Jakarta Provincial Government had held mass cleanup action throughout the Jakarta area involving the community.

The activities packaged in the "Bakti Kita untuk Jakarta" (Our Service to Jakarta) program include ASN and PJLP staff under the Jakarta Government working together with residents to clean up garbage and water channels in residential areas that are prone to flooding.

"In facing the rainy season, we've dealt with it early. We have held mass cleanup action with the Acting Governor, with the aim of cleaning sedimentation and mud in water channels or rivers," she expressed.

The Jakarta Government's efforts to encourage residents to clean the environment continue to be carried out, through the City Secretary's instruction Number 100/2023 on the Implementation of Asri Lestari Environmental Mutual Cooperation Competition Activities.

Through Sekdaini's instructions, the government, through urban villagr and sub-district officials, urged residents to hold community service every Sunday, 7 AM - 10 AM from December 2023 to January 2024.

"This also aimes to increase resident awareness and participation in environmental management," she stated.
